Coniferophytina
Coniferophytina, Gabelnervige Nacktsamer, ca. 600 Holzgewächsarten umfassende Unterabteilung der ⇒ Spermatophyta; bildet zusammen mit den Cycadophytina die Entwicklungsstufe der Gymnospermae. Merkmale: kleine gabelnervige Laubblätter, die auch nadelförmig, schuppenförmig, bandförmig oder zerteilt-flächig ausgebildet sein können; die Staubblätter (Mikrosporophylle) tragen nur einzelne Pollensackgruppen, die »Fruchtblätter« (Megasporophylle) sind einfache Samenanlagenträger. Die C. leiten sich wahrscheinlich von Progymnospermen des Devons ab. Sie haben heute noch als weit verbreitete Waldbäume große Bedeutung. Gliederung in zwei Klassen: ⇒ Ginkgoopsida und ⇒ Pinopsida, Nadelhölzer.
