Ophiuroidea
Ophiuroidea, Schlangensterne, Klasse der ⇒ Echinodermata, ca. 2000, den Meeresboden besiedelnde Arten, Unterstamm ⇒ Eleutherozoa. Habituell ähneln die O. den Asteroidea, ihre fünf, meist wenige cm langen, schlanken, sehr beweglichen Arme sind jedoch vom scheibenförmigen Rumpf abgesetzt, die Ambulacralrinnen mit dem Nervensystem in einen Kanal eingesenkt. Die O. sind Räuber. Pluteus-Larve.
